WHEN TO QUIT YOUR JOB
(AND WHEN NOT TO)

I quit Google back in 2018.
I had the salary, the stock options, the benefits. The kind of job your parents tell their friends about. And within my first year of leaving, I was making five times more than Google was paying me.
So you'd think I'd tell everyone to quit their job tomorrow.
I don't.
I actually tell most people the opposite.
Because before I quit, I gave myself two conditions:
I had to hit 500,000 subscribers on YouTube.
I had to have $100,000 saved. I calculated that $80K would cover me in LA, then added $20K extra because I'm paranoid.
To hit those numbers, I was working at Google from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., then coming home and spending the entire night shooting and editing videos. For months.
It was brutal.
But when I finally quit, it wasn’t as big a risk because I had the numbers to prove it.
That's the part people skip when they talk about quitting their 9-to-5. They skip the setup.
I think about it like Tarzan in the jungle. You don't let go of one vine until you've got a grip on the next one.
I've seen guys quit because they're frustrated and hate their job, not because they've built something.
Quitting like this almost never works out.
If your side project has real, consistent revenue. If you've got enough savings to survive a year of making nothing. If you've been doing the work while employed and you can see where it's going. That's when you quit.
But if you're just unhappy at work and the side hustle is still an idea in your Notes app? Stay.
Build at night. I did it for years and the stability it brings is worth it.
I'm putting together the full breakdown of how to know when to quit your job to go all in on a side project.
The exact timeline, the savings targets, the moment to know if it’s time. Comment or send me a reply if you’re interested.

Forte’s launched in 861 Target stores.
I took out a $1.5M loan to make this happen. It's the biggest risk I've ever taken.
As a thank you here’s two prizes:
Your first bottle is free. The first 300 people who grab Forte at Target and send us a photo with the product + receipt get fully reimbursed up to $25.
Want a free trip to NYC? One person who picks up Forte in the first two weeks of launch gets flown out to hang with me - dinner, meet the team, be in the vlog.
