WHAT BEING AN IMMIGRANT TAUGHT ME ABOUT WEALTH

I moved to the U.S. from Brazil at 13.

Five of us in one bedroom at my uncle's apartment. My dad washed dishes. My mom worked the cafeteria at my middle school, so every day I'd watch her serve food to my classmates while I stood in the free lunch line.

That was my normal.

My friends had nice cars. We drove a $500 beater.

They'd go on vacations, buy extra food at lunch, and wear whatever was trending.

But I never asked for a single dollar. I knew what that dollar cost my parents.

Finally I got my first job at 14 making pizzas at Domino's.

It was $7 an hour but now I could experience the freedom hard work brings.

By my twenties I was working three jobs at once.

Driving a six-wheeler truck to deliver landscaping materials in the mornings. Serving at Outback Steakhouse at night. Bouncing at a club on weekends. And somewhere in between, taking EMT classes and making YouTube videos that nobody watched.

I was busy. But everyone around me growing up worked like that.

Every immigrant I knew was destroying themselves physically in jobs that would never pay them what they were worth.

And that's the part that messed with my head for years.

I watched people work harder than any CEO I've ever met

And still stay broke.

That's when it clicked.

Effort isn't the only variable. Your vehicle is.

And the right vehicle can unlock exponential skills, impact or wealth.

Honestly being an immigrant has taught me so much about life and I’ve applied those lessons throughout my career and relationships.

There's plenty more lessons from that period. Even bigger than what I’ve just shared.
