This is the best time for a style refresh
Fall essentials for every guy
Weather shifts, style Shifts.
Your summer uniform has expired.
Tees had their moment and shorts are definitely done.
Fall resets the rhythm.
Cool mornings paired with warm afternoons.
Layers actually make sense, finally.
Now is the ideal time to switch it up.
I like to use fall as an excuse to reinvent myself.

LAYERS FRAME
THE SEASON

The mornings are officially cooler, but the afternoons still feel like summer.
I love summer, but not summer style, which gets boring.
Fall allows you to add more character and personality to your outfits through layers like jackets.
I love this time of year.
Fall’s core foundation
On the top
Light sweaters

Thin enough for layering yet classy enough to wear alone.
A knit crewneck or merino piece works with chinos, denim, or under a bomber. Banana Republic has a lot of great options.
Thick casual hoodies

No, not your gym hoodie. I’m talking heavier cotton, clean fits and muted tones.
Pick up one that’s comfortable and still looks good under a jacket without looking sloppy - Reigning Champ has some good options.
Knit polos

You know I love my knit polos. A step up from tees but less formal than shirts.
These are ideal for days that shift from work to dinner.
Straightforward bottoms
Straight cut wool chinos

Wool chinos feel warmer, look sharper, and keep their shape through the day.
The straight cut keeps things clean without going skinny or baggy. SuitSupply has a lot of options.
Foolproof layers
Bomber jackets

The most versatile layer, bombers work over a tee, knit polo, or sweater.
Depending on how you layer them, they’re good for a night out or casual daily wear. Zara’s got a ton of them to check out.
Work jackets

Tough, practical, and built for cooler weather.
Work jackets from brands like Carhartt are going to give your fit a rugged edge while still looking put together.
All the final touches
Clean leather boots

Fall’s foundation, easy to dress up or down.
These carry you through rain and still work inside a restaurant. My go-to pair is from 3Sixteen.
Brown sunglasses

Lighter lenses fit fall skies better than dark black shades. No matter the season, sunglasses are always going to be a staple option.
Go for lighter tints/warmer tones this season from classic brands like Ray-Ban.
Fall fragrances

Cold air dulls light scents so go with something that’s a bit darker with wood and spice.
I’m switching over to Forte’s Antagonist now.
Fit of the week

Location: New apartment (with a couch, finally)
