The habit that fuels every high performer

Simple tactics you can literally do today

Show up. Lock in. Repeat.

What if I told you the most powerful part of every successful person’s routine has nothing to do with green juice, saunas, or journaling prompts?

It’s this:

They show up.
Every. Single. Day.

You ever watch those videos where the rich guy is asked if they’re ever worried about losing it all and the answer is always no.  This is because…

They created their wealth off of a foundation that they can use to build anything else, if they had to.

When your mind is trained to stay focused and consistent, things just start to happen.

And your daily routine becomes something that you just do without thinking.

This week:

👀 A big collab is about to drop

Creating consistency in your life simply by showing up

NEXT WEEK I’M POSTING A VIDEO WITH ANOTHER CREATOR YOU MIGHT KNOW… ANY GUESSES?

The power of showing up

Let’s put aside plunging your face in a bowl of ice water for a second. The real secret behind every high-performer you admire is simple: they show up even when they don’t like it.

Consistency is the ultimate cheat code.

Not once a week. Not when life feels easy.
Every day. Or at least in some way.

And I get it. It’s easy to feel like your effort isn’t paying off.

Everyone feels like they’re going nowhere when they first start.

When I first started my YouTube channel, my content consisted of low quality videos of me unboxing things and reviewing video games.

They didn’t pop off.
They didn’t go viral.
Some barely cracked a few hundred views.

But I kept showing up because I believed in myself and the long game.

One video turned into ten. Ten into a hundred.
And eventually, it clicked.

That’s what consistency does.

To start consistently showing up…

  • Set a daily minimum (5 push-ups, 1 journal entry, 2 minutes of reading, etc.)

  • Schedule it like a meeting (I block my calendar even for things that I’m doing on my own)

  • Make it public (tell people what you’re doing so they can hold you accountable)

A simple morning routine is all you need

Your morning sets the tone. You don’t need a 3-hour routine, again let's put the bowl of ice water aside for now.  You just need a rhythm that energizes you and clears your head.

Keep your mornings simple...

  • Wake up at the same time daily - This alone improves sleep, discipline, and energy.

  • Hydrate immediately - Your body needs it after 7-8 hours of sleep.

  • Review your top 3 goals for the day - Keeps your priorities in check.

  • Move your body - Even 10-15 minutes of light stretching, walking, or pushups gets the blood flowing.

  • Eat something clean and protein-rich - Fuel up with something that won’t make you crash midday.

Do you need to do all of these things? No, but you’ll notice that everything in the above list is simple and repeatable - you just want things that you know you can do on a daily basis.

Non-negotiables in the morning

As you stick to your routine, you’ll notice certain things become non-negotiable.  For me it’s my morning coffee and morning workout.  It’s gotten to the point for me where no matter how I start my morning, these two things need to be part of my routine.

For you maybe it’s taking a moment to do some breath work or light meditation.  Or maybe you need to write everything down for the day before you do anything else.

Whatever it is, there will be things within your routine that are must-haves no matter what, ensure they stay that way to keep you on track.

How to actually stick to it

Most routines fail because they’re designed for your best days but what happens when you were out late the night before and wake up with less energy than usual?

To get your routine to stick, build it for the average days: when you’re tired, distracted, or simply just don’t want to do anything.  And then focus on these three things:

Habit stacking

Once you’ve got some habits that you know for a fact are sticking, try incorporating new actions.

Combine getting your hydration in after you brush your teeth or plan your top 3 goals for the day while you make your coffee. It’s much easier to incorporate new actions within your routine by taking advantage of the things you already do.

Make your mornings frictionless

Set up your environment so that you’re automatically into the routine the next day:

Avoiding screens?  Leave your phone across the room.

Headed to the gym in the morning? Pack your gym bag the night before.

Planning for a healthy meal to start the day? Prep your breakfast in advance.

You control how easy your routine can be, eliminate as much friction as you can.

Shift Your Identity

This isn’t about trying to be disciplined, it’s about becoming someone who shows up, no matter what.

We tend to act in line with who we think we are.

Tell yourself…

“I don’t miss twice.”
“I’m the type of person who takes care of his mind and body.”
“I start my day with purpose.”

Identity drives action. Action reinforces identity. That loop is very powerful.

This all connects back to momentum.  Simply start with something you can keep doing, the rest will compound from there.

Launching a new product is definitely exciting but as you’ll see from my spray-painting skills, there’s a lot of work that goes into it.
