TAKE BACK
YOUR HAIR

Most hair problems are fixable but only if you know what’s actually happening.
Flat hair, receding lines, and thinning strands all show up differently and each one needs a different approach.
Spot and act on any of these as soon as you can before they become much harder to manage.
Flat hair breakdown
Hair that sits low, lacks shape, and gives up by noon.
Common with fine or straight hair.
Made worse by oil at the roots, humidity, and heavy product.
What to do:
Wash your scalp, not just your hair
Condition mid to ends (not roots)
Pre-style with salt spray or mousse at the root
Blow dry with lift, set with cool air
Matte clay on ends only
Finish with texture spray for dry hold
Cut tip:
Ask for internal layers to create built-in lift
Tighter sides = more contrast up top
*We just launched Forte’s Volumizing Shampoo to help all of you with flat, tired hair. Check it out here or below in my shopping cart.
Receding? Style smarter
The corners creep back. The front hairline fades.
Believe it or not, this usually starts in your 20s.
Genetics plays a role, but style can cover a lot.
What to do:
Switch to a textured crop or soft fringe cut
Low or mid fade keeps temples from hollowing out
Blow dry forward, then lift the front
Going deeper:
Minoxidil (Rogaine) has been scientifically proven to work with consistency.
Topical finasteride = doctor path
Even a health diet will help make your hair look more full to cover the missing hairline.
Thinning hair doesn’t mean balding
This is density loss, not full-on balding.
You’ll notice it in the part, at the crown, or under downlighting.
How to handle it:
Go shorter with added texture
Matte finish = fuller appearance
Dry shampoo gives instant lift/grip
Keep sides tighter to make top look fuller
Layer and redirect to break up thin zones
Next-level help:
Microneedling works but only clean and consistent.
See a dermatologist for sudden patchiness or rapid shedding.
Habits that KEEP your hair
Think of it like skincare.
It may feel boring, or like nothing is changing, but it all adds up over time.
Washing:
Oily scalp? Wash every 1-2 days.
Normal? Every 2-3 is fine.
Warm water to cleanse, cold to seal.
Styling protection:
Always use a heat protectant
Low heat only
Brush gently, especially when wet
Use a silk or satin pillowcase
Nutrition:
Protein every meal
Iron, zinc, copper from real food
Hydrate all day
Hygiene + tracking:
Clarify weekly (take a good shampoo to your scalp)
Clean your brushes
Take 3 photos a month: front, crown, side
Adjust based on what you actually see
